The Day After Monday.

You know how I said I loved John Donne? I still do, but never read "Batter my heart" AKA Holy sonnet # 14. I think he goes a little crazy in that one. It's not worth it.

DO, however, read Holy sonnet # 10-"Death be not proud". That one is fantastic.

Yesterday was horrible. All because I decided to watch the Oscars. From 11:30-12:30 I worked on a paper and studied. 12:30-3:00 I slept. I needed it, but I never went into a deep sleep. A good thing because if I had, I would have probably stayed asleep.

3:00-5:00 I finished my paper. It took me exactly that amount of time. And thank goodness. I showered, made my way to mom and dads to print my paper and such. Then it was to the Scott Brundage Farm to do bird point count and transect surveys. 6:15-7:45. It was a beautiful morning and it was wonderful to hear the birds, though they were all the same. I thought I found all the flag marked points to do my counts. I found out later that I had the wrong points. Frustrating. I tell you, this class involves a massive amount of work. BUT it is NOT my least favorite class. That title goes to Animal Population Dynamics and Management (PopDy for short).

I agree with my fellow editor, Tom. We had better be getting buku (bucu? bookoo?) points in the peer evaluations for all the work we are doing. We are the ones who make the paper awesome. We give it a face lift, lip enhancements and liposuction before it goes to the people who will criticize it, call it too fat, too old, and too ugly. Not that the others don't do a lot of work. They do. But we have to be the meticulus ones. Thank goodness for Josh and Becky for being good writers already.

Moving on. I was late for my folklore class. I dont think I missed much. The hour between Folklore and Icthyology was spent studying for test in the latter class. I got a 30% on the first test. Feel free to be shocked disgusted. I was. I think I got a B on this test, though I couldn't for the life of me remember what fish family Esocidae was so I made something up to describe their teeth. I was WAAAAAY off. But I still think I got a B.

Then it was to Brit. Lit. where I read Holy sonnet # 14 aloud. Made 70% of the comments in the class (they are not talkers). Half the time I am keeping my mouth shut so that other have a chance to talk. But they dont. So half the time the teacher answers her own questions. I got really annoyed at a girl who read Holy sonnet # 10 they way the lines are written. It went something like this...

Death, be not proud, though some have callèd thee.

Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so.

For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow.

Die not, poor death, nor yet canst thou kill me.

Etc.

When it should be.....

Death, be not proud, though some have called the mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so. For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow die not, poor death, nor canst thou kill me.

It is one of my pet peeves when people read poetry the wrong way. There is punctuation for a reason. There are sentences. I know I shouldn't get this worked up about it, but I can't help it.

After nearly falling asleep in the last 10 minutes of Brit. Lit. I went to the computer to do all the plastic surgery on my groups paper. That took me right to 1:30. I met my fellow editor and we collaborated our work.

(I know that Elise made mention that for someone who claims to be a good editor, my blogs often contain their fair share of misspesllings (is that spelled right?) and punctuation errors. To be fair, when I blog, I just type and then post. I never go back, re-read, and edit. So there you have it.)

This took a good 2.5 hours. Then I got to sit in the class centered around this paper for 2 hours. I got a little loopy there in the end.

I later watched 24.

Then it was time for sleep.

I know that my acocunt of Monday is the most interesting thing you will ever read. Especially since the post is titled "The Day After Monday". I just don't want to do my PopDy homework. I am putting it off by blogging. My favorite distraction.

But I think it's time to stop now. Here is a list of things to make me happy so that I don't get to depressed with my insane life right now.

1. Slumdog Millionaire won best picture
2. We got to see Hugh Jackman sing and dance more than once.
3. Dave Barry's 24 blog.
4. Going to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with Kirsti for spring break. Camping, horseback riding, road trip...it's going to be awesome.
5. Stomp! This Wednesday!!! I am really excited for that.
6. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers-part one this Friday night. Anyone want to join my and Kirsti?
7. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers-Part two Saturday night.
8. Beckie being home for a spell. That is REALLY exciting!

Thats all I got. What are you happy for right now? I want to know, so tell me!

Suck up...but I love it.

Things that DON'T make me happy first:
-travelocity and outsourcing
-being thrifty and deciding on no checked luggage (my two carry-on's are near to bursting)
-my lack of exercising for the past 5 days b/c I can't sleep
-my not being able to sleep
-my messy surfaces in my room, but hey, my bed it made

Things I am happy about:
-Will be home in less 5 days!
-just washed my bedding...yum
-Despite them nearly bursting, I do have everything I need, and a few extras, already packed. I rock.
-Hugh Jackman (writing a post about it right now)
-the thought of real food in my near future
